Frequently Asked Questions:

Who is eligible for the Chamber Energy Solutions (CES) Electricity Program?
Local area businesses are eligible for the program.

Are there membership or unit fees involved?
There is a small per unit fee for program administration that would be added to the supplier portion of your electricity costs. These fees are administered by the Toledo Regional Chamber and help support the Chamber.

How will my invoice from the utility change if I go with CES?
Your invoice will likely have a line added that references the generation supply price but the power would still be invoiced through the utility in most cases.  Only the very largest of consumers could potentially get two bills (one from the utility and one from the power supplier.)

What is my price? How much will I save?
These are difficult questions to answer without knowing the details of your operational consumption pattern.  Until mid-May we will also not know the results from the power supply auction for FirstEnergy consumers.  The result of the auction will also impact the savings potential.  Please provide us with a copy of your latest complete (all pages) electric bill(s) and the authorization form. These documents can be sent by fax to 419.539.9185, or e-mail, or mail to 241 N Superior St. Suite 250, Toledo, OH 43604.

How does this affect my electricity relationship with my utility (Toledo Edison/Ohio Edison/Etc)?

Your local utility will not change.  They will still deliver your electric service regardless of who supplies the actual electricity.

Are there lengthy contracts that I must participate in?

Your electricity load will be pooled with many other companies.    When you sign up, you will be required to stay in the program until May 31st, 2011.  Of course, in the unlikely event that the CES bid process does not create savings, your organization would be informed of the result and would continue to purchase electricity at FirstEnergy’s Auction rate.
